Vincent leapt into the drivers seat and ripped apart the ignition he hot wired the jeep, and her loud diesel engine spluttered in to life Jamie's voice crept out from under the jacket "maybe we should try another 1 pal she doesn't sound healthy" "there's no time to go window shopping for cars! Ok! this is NOT a game" the boy saw stress darkening his friends eyes and tried to reassure him "she'll do you always knew a good 1 eh?" Vincent smiled 1/2 heartedly and spun the jeep out on to the road the traffic was light due to the weather and in spite of it, they made good progress towards the suburbs."I'd forgotten how good a driver you are, I bet you drive all the time" the vampire avoided the question and concentrated on the road though he could easly have driven to Skye while 1/2 asleep.Once Marcus had bought him a stunning Ferrari 550 Maranello to apologise for breaking 5 of his ribs, the addictive sinister perfection of the car only exacerbated Vincent's pain and sense of loss."I...... dont really no its been eh.....5 months since.." He stared out of the windscreen at the road stretching far in to the distance and tried to make allowances for Marcus."Our..Bond is grudged I'm in thrall to him...And he resents my humanity it...Reminds him of what he's lost".Jamie wished Vincent would look at him but his topaz eyes were bewitched by the snow swirling down and past a bright orange street light.

"everything's amazing to you it must be incredible seeing for the 1st time in 25 years" the vampire smiled and floored the accelerator,Jamie fell back in the seat and laughed for a while they were 2 young lads breaking the rules and pushing their limits."Quite responsive arent you old girl hmm?" he eased off the pedal then floored it again the jeep skidded on a patch of black ice and the back end twitched but Vincent caught the slide he laughed and turned down a side alley that would take them away from any patrolling police cars.

As they emerged from the alley Vincent tried to see things from Jamie's point of view,he had seen brilliantly now for 10 years, yet to Jamie each new visual miracle was like the 1st,as if the switch had been reversed.{It's understandable that he's cramming so much in, before the veil falls forever}Jamie had dropped off to sleep and his chest rose and fell with less urgency the oxygen rich blood would keep him strong for 6 weeks or so, then the difficult decisions would come to haunt them both.

The snow was coming down in lumps and Vincent heard the heavy ponderous engine of a snow plough behind him,he pulled in to make room and turned away from the driver "Iv'e never figured out why those feckers are so nosy...Suppose staring at nothing but f*cking snow all evening, would make you glad of a distraction".He followed the clearer trail made by the plough and salt crunched under the jeep's broad tyres, but stronger still was the scent of warm well fed blood his thirst was building and becoming harder to ignore."Damn! Why now it's impossible Jesus! he cursed and accelerated to pass the crawling snow plough.

"If he even thinks about complaining I'll have him!".As predicted the driver blasted his horn as the jeep skidded past his bumper "Christ! Cant you at least surprise me" The vampire drove onto the pavement and swung in to a gloomy side street where he killed the engine, and sat in darkness."Now all we have to is wait" Jamie woke up at the sound of his voice as his eyes took time to adjust he stretched and glanced at Vincent who seemed to be in world of his own."What's up are the.... polis on to us".
"No go back to sleep..." The vampire's voice was cold desolate and hungry "oh oh who's on the menu" he glanced at Jamie and he vividly remembered when they had 1st laid eyes on each other, and Vincent had seen him as nothing more than food.

"Dont! Are you that attached to your own blood...F*ck! Its good to know you lot are into recycling" his eyes scanned the length of Jamie's thin body and there was nothing he could do as Vincent's right hand reached out and moved his head to the side. His eyes were fixed on the jugular vein it pulsated with misleading life and the hunger gnawed at him as a dog chews on an old bone."Look its a waste of time i told you....My red cell count is so low......The f*ckin transfusion didnt work it never does!".Still the vampire held on to him and his long nails were pinching his skin the discomfort was familiar."Hey see over there he's much more your style you like a bit of rough stuff".The plough driver had jumped out of his cab for a fly smoke he walked back checking his work and pulling frequently on a strong roll up."You can take him easily and Iv'e not see you kill in ages"

Post 10 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Monday, 04-Oct-2004 13:32:42

Vincent ripped his leather jacket from the boy's grasp and jumped out in to the blinding snow as if wasnt there,Jamie kept out of sight he was frightened to look, but part of him wanted to watch this vampire kill. The driver didnt notice death heading his way he was too busy tempting it by finishing the cigarette, in the warmth of his cab.Suddenly the door flew open and Vincent hauled the big man out with the same ease with which he had killed the old woman. He didnt snarl or speak but carried the barely conscious man to a lightless lane where he could feed in peace.Hot junk food filled blood flowed down his throat he swirled it around like a wine connoissuer savouring every drop,Vincent then withdrew and closed the wound. There was not enough time to dispose of the corpse but leaving it lying around was asking for trouble."Shit!...Well hmm think fast pal whats to be done" without thinking he shouldered the body and ran back to the jeep.

Post 11 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Monday, 04-Oct-2004 14:33:57

He opened the boot and tossed the heavy corpse on to a dirty tarpaulin Vincent tugged it loose and buried his kill underneath it he then took a few minutes to enjoy the sensation of blood zinging thru his veins."Ahhh! Didnt you taste good hmm hmm".Jamie didnt dare move as the vampire came around to his side and stared at him thru the dirty glass with that empty expression."Am i for afters...You'll get fat....Vince" a few centimeters of glass seperated them and it was useless for Jamie to console himself with that thought. With his hunger dying and a strong heated arrogance inside him Vincent left and jumped in to his seat.Jamie felt trapped he was fully aware that his friend was losing the last of his humanity and soon no mortal would be safe in his company."Maybe i should go hmm?..I'll hold you back...that was smooth so smoo..." "shut up! You know I'm experienced if you are scared then go,but where would you go hmm? Its -10 out there and your little more than bones!".He seemed disappointed by that and Jamie climbed in to the back seat while his bones clattered and rattled inside Vincent's head.

"Sometimes i wish you were human because that's obviously a hassle now" he risked a glance and saw two topaz eyes glowing with incandescant life they fell on him and he sat like a mouse hypnotised by a cobra's stare."It was inevitable i was advanced there wasa delay but its working now".The boy inhaled sharply and drew back the eyes followed his inperceptible panic and smiled .

"Yes it takes a while but better late than not at all eh Christ he tasted good,I could go again what? Ah there are side effects uncontrolled aggression and rampant hunger, if you still feel like leaving I'd go now before the storm arrives".Jamie crawled onto the floor as Vincent shook the noise of his bones out of his head, and revved the engine.I really regret leaving the Ferarri but....she just cant handle heavy snow...Still it wont last forever" he pressed the accelerator and they left to dump the body.Jamie was thinking furiously and each conclusion scared the life out of him, despite the fear he had to know just how far Vincent had been advanced."Was ....It 2..3 years..Or more" he answered while playing with a ring on his index finger, his eyes were anywhere but on the road."5 I was 20 as you well know" "F*ck! This means you are now as strong as Marcus!...He was scared to ask but curiosity will out."You wont become like him Iv'e seen enough of that".Vincent smiled but cruelty lurked behind it

In the bedroom Marcus was coming to he groaned and tried to sit up but the knife had gone right thru the floor. As he gripped the hilt the serrated blade grated and dragged against his ribs, he could feel each notch catching on the bones. With a deep dry breath he took a firmer hold and pulled the blade clear,it came out clean his body craved blood with a hunger he hadn't felt in months."Jesus! I....can barely recall the taste of blood".He staggered and searched for the life giving liquid the blood he had lost was gone not a drop tainted the cold stones.Marcus stared in shock at this and his fingers they were covered with numerous small bites "...Rats! I'm food ...for rats!".

Post 17 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Tuesday, 05-Oct-2004 9:59:06

He looked around but found none next to a vampire sucking at his own, vein, feeding from rats was a cardinal sin,Marcus however had broken every rule in the book and had rewritten his own."There will.... Be....ARggh!".Getting to his feet was agonising the vampire had forgotten how deep the pain ran,and the torture of the weeks to come.Right now feeding was the only priority and as he dragged himself to the door Jeny made the mistake of opening it.Marcus deadly even now grabbed her leg and sank his fangs in to a lurid blue vein.Thin old blood ran down his throat but it could have been vintage nectar, he drank until a 1/4 of his strength returned and allowed him to grip the jugular vein in a fatal embrace.

With 8 pints of vital blood zinging thru his dried out veins Marcus stood up and went to wash away the remnants of his night with Vincent,he missed the young vampire's cheek and reckless attitude, but at the same time, and several times his carelessness had almost brought about their destruction."I will...have...you!".His hand held the edges of the ragged wound together which prevented blood loss, and condensed his anger until it was tangible.

Post 19 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Tuesday, 05-Oct-2004 10:38:18

He switched on the shower and stood under warm fast running water he had taken to human luxuries without a 2nd thought, and indulged them whenever he could. But hunger and a hatred of rats still annoyed Marcus and he wanted to sink his fangs in to the entire population of Glasgow."Damn him! I regret being so easily seduced...But he will come crawling back as usual when the others begin the hunt".

Post 20 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Tuesday, 05-Oct-2004 11:20:53

A faint scratching alerted him to a victim he darted out of the shower in a foaming blur, and held the rat in a vice like grip. The indignant rodent went to bite his fingers and Marcus repaid the thought by ramming his fangs in to its fleshy body,he had feasted on rats at one time when food had been scarce and there was little else. This 1 reminded him of his upbringing in Edinburgh's underground vaults where darkness disease and poverty were rampant."Never again! You are the last ok".Marcus pointed to the dying creature but it was past caring."And dont bother bringing your family to chew on me!".

he hung up the animal on a hook and went to wash off the soap. The black rat was an unwelcome visitor and Marcus was determined to rid himself of every last 1.He dried himself on a thick black towel and crossed the hall to his room, the black velvet curtains were open and uninterrupted moonlight streamed in.He stood within it and dried his long dark hair, the light danced along the thick strands as it moved and he enjoyed the sensation of sudden heat travelling down his back. The wound stung and bled as with a mortal Marcus couldnt afford to lose very much and hunting now would be a risky affair."He will beg! For death by the time I hang his pathetic up in the hot sun!".He threw on a black satin shirt and black jeans his sense of touch had doubled with his transformation and Marcus had spent hours just feeling and exploring as Vincent had once. The rat distracted his thoughts and he gently pulled it from the iron hook."Let's hope this! knocks some sense into your lot" he ripped off the creature's skin and the horror of it held his attention to his deep brown eyes, the rat was aesthetically beautiful now.

Marcus resisted the urge to "play" with his artwork and took it outside, to join the others, who were hanging frozen from a tree like macabre christmas decorations. As he surveyed the scene it's appeal grew he enjoyed coming out here to spectate as the few rats that had been alive slowly started to die writhing and screaming then as the cold crept inside their raw bleeding forms they fell silent and the game began again. He hung the male rat up by wire which he wrapped tight around its balls, its small penis popped out and Marcus vainly felt relieved by his size that had always been important to him.

A bitter frost clung to every surface and the ground chrunched under his boots,he looked up at the moon and her blaze obliterated the few stars that shone "weakly compared to you my beauty......The only light i need and want" suddenly voices broke in to the memories he wanted so badly to forget "its colder than f*ckin anythin pal let's find somewhere eh anybloodywhere".Marcus tracked them and realised he could interecept them easily "this il be surely the easiest kill Iv'e ever made and there's been a few" he kept out of sight and made good use of a convenient bank of cloud drifting over the moon,to get within reach. The men stumbled towards him moaning and shivering violently he recognised the early signs of hypothermia. They were within 10 feet of the vampire and he couldnt wait any longer, summoning up all his strength Marcus grabbed 1 and caused the other to faint while he fed.

He fed voraciously the men had been 1/2 drunk and now he was begining to feel it he staggered as his head began to spin, but the feeling was brief and Marcus swallowed every last drop then started on the 2nd drunk his blood was thick with cheap whisky, as it burned its way down he shivered with pleasure, and drank more slowly like a mortal savouring a fine single malt.Eventually the feast came to an end and the vampire lay bloated and exhausted the frigid air bit in to his wound despite the bandage, convincing him to move."I'm 1 lucky b*st*rd it il take more than a knifing to knock this guy down". Marcus stood up with the ease of a tiger and strode off to warm up normally the cold was of no consequence but now it buried itself deep within his bones bringing more thoughts of his childhood,he was glad to get inside.

"Jesus!" He felt blood seeping thru the dressing he couldnt feed fast enough to keep up with it "F.ck! Ok its time for some surgery pal...Good thing its not my brain" Marcus laughed sarcastically while searching for his suture kit he found it covered in dust and for a moment the neglect disturbed him."So much is in the past....So much I cant recapture" he unwrapped the dressing and the wound glared in the bright candlelight it was smarting and hot.He carefully rubbed away the congealed blood and stitched up the ragged skin."Your for it boy!...There's nowhere you can go that i wont find you" as the needle slipped through his skin his mind wandered back some 350 years to a time when he had injured himself, and his brother had seen to the wound in a filthy room, with little air or daylight. The memory came from so far back in his mind and it hurt to force it back there."Why do i.....Why is this shit important now! The blood and alcohol tired him out and Marcus gladly gave in to it, he built up the fire and stretched out on the large sofa while a gale force wind howled outside and his rat tree creaked and whined like an old dog.The last thing he heard was a distant police siren heading east, later followed by another,he listened until the sonic lullaby lulled him off to sleep.Vincent had driven hard for 15 miles and they were on the outskirts of Glasgow, heading north, to where he'd no idea they just had to keep ahead of whoever had been alterted to his attack on Marcus."Where were those f*ckers when i needed help eh! Nowhere! Cowards! Every 1". Jamie hid from his tirade and thought about using his mobile to call the older vampire. He pressed the button but the screen failed to light up. "come on...Come on please.."He glanced up at Vincent who was sorting thru an assortment of CD's with disgust."Shit!" He stared in the mirror and caught the boy's furtive expression."Ah ha!" There was undisguised malice in that Jamie shook involuntarily and tossed the useless mobile out the window before the jeep had drawn to a halt.

Vincent slamed on the brakes and jumped out as they failed to bite on the slippery tarmac. He found shards of plastic and irrational anger flashed in his eyes."Who were you calling!? Hmmm come here and answer me!" The boy reluctantly opened the door and climbed out he was shaking and full of anticipation.I'm sorry....I panicked...Dont stare at me like that!....Vincent stop it!".His hand whipped out faster than a striking snake, and 5 long sharp nails clasped Jamie's thin arm "F*ck you! He's in no state to help anyone let alone you" "Your so different now i HATE! Marcus meanwhile had been in touch with the elders, and they were livid at his near destruction he'd rested and protected the wound as best he could, but it had bled continually for 30 minutes and he was growing gradually weaker. They were worried by this decline as Marcus had been stalked then chosen by an endangered vampire, who saw him as the saviour of his divided coven. His strength courage and fearlessness at the kill had thrilled Lorne,he hadnt asked for permission but then it was unnecessary.Marcus gladly accepted and quickly grew in to his vampire skin, as if it had been made for him, taking a life to live was exciting, and the ultimate thrill.Lorne was his only hope of surviving and if the ancient vampire refused to abandon his long imposed sleep, then things looked bleak.

The Elders had found him and used every type of trickery bribery and inovative lies open to them, but still there was no movement from the snow. They really needed Marcus and his talent for chicanery disguised as diplomacy for which he was famous, the vampire was fading fast and no threat to his enemies and the voyuers who came to gloat and amuse themselves with his deteriation.Lorne remained beneath the frozen earth he lived a nomadic existence and had settled for now in Norway his old home, which he was unable to fully leave behind. When the group had finished their vigil and were preparing to go the snow showed signs of life.
"At last! It's been ten years or more since he has fed is the offering secure".A tall blonde vampire, reminiscant of a viking held a young boy in his strong arms."Yes but if he doesnt surface soon...I might start on him myself?".Lorne dug through the frozen ground and slowly his long white fingers emerged almost blending in to the snow.A hand reached down and assisted him his grip was still there.

They freed him from the snowy rock strewn ground, and he scanned the barren wilderness with affection, then his icy blue eyes fell on the shivering boy.The vampire dragged him over and Lorne didnt hesitate, his elegant lupine fangs dived in to the jugluar and he drank greedily. The Elders watched him with a mixture of awe and fear after 10 years underground he should have been weak, unable to stand, and decaying to nothing more than dust.He bled the boy dry and signalled for more, the blonde vampire bowed then handed over a large silver flask, as Lorne emptied it a suggestion of colour came to his ravaged face.He had been very handsome before this deliberate exile now time, a lack of blood, and severe cold had taken their toll.None the less no one would think of questioning his leadership without Lorne they could not exist.

The bitter wind whistled between land and the increasingly choppy sea, they watched white tipped waves rise and break against the skeries "we must move Marcus wont last much longer....And we have to discuss the matter of revenge" Lorne expressed his silent words in various ways, and those closest to him had quickly learned to recognise them."We are aware of the abuse and we will take it in to account when dealing with Vincent" their words were empty and as Lorne showed his anger at their lies, his blue eyes grew fierce with anger and suspicion "no action will be taken without consulting you 1st and Vincent will be allowed to speak for himself" a few snow flakes descended lazily to earth and thick dark grey clouds sped down from the nearby mountains when Lorne finally made the decision to leave they followed like obedient hounds,a large helicopter stood on small hill overlooking steep cliffs, and for all his courage and lack of compassion Lorne hated this but it would take several days before he was able to fly alone.

Vincent had driven constantly without a break for 25 miles, until driving snow had forced them to stop in a dark turn off, he was immune to the cold and went to wake Jamie inspite of being dumped in the boot he had curled up in an attempt to keep warm, the cold had weakened him further "oi! Wake up shortie...Come on....Stop pissing around" Vincent hurriedly felt for his pulse and found it weak and thready "shit! I'm sorry ok....So sorry" he wrapped Jamie in a thick blanket and lifted him from the boot, the boy was cold, lifeless, and his white skin had the texture of wax.
"Christ! If you die on me i'll!....." In the warm jeep Vincent gave him a hot drink and turned the heater up to maximum, outside the Aurora Borealis spun overhead unnoticed "wake up please you little arsehole! Ok you leave me no choice....but we dont have much between us".

There wasnt time to go thru the preliminaries the boy was dying front of him and his normal fascination with death had elluded him,as the vampire bit his wrist and cradled Jamie's limp body in his arms, he looked in to his eyes as they flickered open "wont be long lie still and drink....I'll try not to hurt you" thick crimson blood drippd in to the boy's parched mouth, his veins and red cells screamed impatiently for it he tried to sit up and grip onto Vincent's wrist. He watched with a mixture of amazement and grief,{there's no guarentee the transformation will work, f*ck! What if he's reversed and left in darkness!}Jamie drank the vamp dry and lay back gasping with pleasure as Vincent took 1/2 a pint, he transfered it to a silver flask, after 3 hard shakes he offered it with a smile "be careful I dont want to discover you cant handle your drink" almost afraid he handled the flask with great respect and drank slowly while keeping his eyes fixed on the vampire, they knew this was no ordinary turning to survive in an unforgiving and dangerous world a new vampire must be advanced to at least doudble his human age,and as with the 1st change there are far too many
unknowns
